Rev Fr Offu’s Bank Account Reportedly Emptied 25 Minutes After He Was Murdered
The bank account of slain Catholic cleric, Reverend Father Paul has been reportedly emptied by an unidentified person just less than 25 minutes after a gang of unknown gunmen murdered him on Thursday, August 1.
According to Daily Trust, a female source who works with the bank where the deceased’s account was withdrawn from, said the suspect made sure all the fund was emptied.
The source wondered at the speed the withdrawals were made and who must have revealed to the suspect Offu’s Personal Identification Number (PIN).
She said: “It makes one to wonder how fast the killers (assuming they actually made the withdrawal) were able to rush to the bank and withdrew all the cash. Who was, indeed, responsible for disclosing the pin number of the priest ATM?”
The source called on security operatives to investigate the incident and understudy the camera at the ATM to ascertain the culprit.
She said: “It is not certain that the person or persons who made the quick withdrawal from Fr Offu’s bank account destroyed the camera before operating the ATM.
“So the police could exploit this angle and make sure they leave no stone unturned in their investigation.”
