BREAKING: President Buhari Moves To Proscribe Shiites After Violent Protest
The Federal Government is considering the proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Igberetv reports.
This emerged at a meeting President Muhammadu Buhari had with security operatives in the country at the presidential villa, Abuja.
At the emergency meeting late Monday afternoon, a decision was reached that the IMN be declared an illegal organisation in Nigeria, it was learnt.
The meeting which held at the instance of the president, came on the heels of today’s protest which claimed the lives of many including a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Umar Bellel.
It was learnt that the proscription, which is likely to come in form of an Executive Order, is expected to be made public today.
