Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to a statement by Prof. Attahiru Jega, the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, faulting the conduct of some University Lecturers, during the 2019 Governorship election in Kano State.
Recall, that Post-Nigeria had reported that Jega while speaking at the Annual Conference of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria, at Bayero University Kano, BUK, alleged that Politicians used University Lecturers to commit irregularities during the elections, especially in Kano State.
He stated that the BUK Lecturers who worked with Politicians to perpetrate ‘all sorts of irregularities’, betrayed the confidence reposed on them, by compromising the electoral process.
Reacting to Jega’s statement, Sani on his Twitter page, called on anti-corruption Agencies, to investigate the University Lecturers, for election rigging.
The Kaduna Lawmaker wrote: “The complicity of University Lecturers in rigging elections should be well investigated by anti-corruption Agencies, in line with the issues raised by Professor Jega.”
