Our columnists tip sub-£10 malbec and pinot noir along with top-rung southern Rhône wines

These are our favourite bottles to drink over the next few weeks, from youthful party reds under £10 – nothing too oaky or heavy, but just rich enough to take on food too – and finer ones (there’s little to beat a decent bottle of Rioja at Christmas).

Whether remarkably well-priced or veritably versatile, there’s a red wine here for every taste and budget.
