The Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has said that the Igbos will not play second fiddle by accepting the offer to produce the Vice President by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or any political party, in the 2019 elections.
Nwosu who is the Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha, said it would, therefore, be more beneficial for the Ndigbos, if President Muhammadu Buhari was re-elected.
“With the emergence of President Buhari for a second term, the Igbos will only have to wait for four years before producing the next President; it will bring the Igbos closer to the Presidency by 2023. So, there is a need for every Igbo man irrespective of political party affiliation to support Buhari’s re-election bid”, he said.
Post-Nigeria recalls that there have been speculations that the PDP is planning to zone its 2019 Vice Presidential slot to the South-East.
